Tilt & Turn Windows

Tilt & Turn Windows in Lancashire

The most versatile window available — tilt & turn windows offer two opening modes in one, making them ideal for apartments, high-level installations, and anywhere safe internal cleaning is important. Installed across Lancashire by our expert team.

Two Opening Modes

Tilt open from the top for ventilation, or turn fully inward for cleaning and egress.

Childproof Safety

Tilt mode restricts opening to a safe gap — ideal for families with children.

Easy to Clean

Turn mode allows both sides of the glass to be cleaned from inside — no ladders needed.

Excellent Energy Performance

Superior sealing in both tilt and turn positions for A-rated thermal efficiency.

Why Choose Tilt & Turn Windows?

Tilt & turn windows are unique because a single 90-degree turn of the handle gives you two different opening modes. Tilting from the top provides controlled ventilation with restricted opening — perfect for security and child safety. Turning the window fully inward creates a large opening that’s ideal for emergency egress and makes cleaning both sides of the glass straightforward from inside the home.

At Lancashire Window, we offer tilt & turn windows in uPVC and aluminium, in a wide range of sizes and colours. They’re particularly popular for apartments, rear extensions, and high-level installations where external window cleaning would otherwise be difficult or dangerous.

  • Tilt mode — gentle top ventilation with restricted opening
  • Turn mode — full inward opening for cleaning and egress
  • Child safety — tilt position restricts opening to a safe gap
  • Apartment-friendly — ideal where external cleaning is impractical
  • A-rated sealed units — excellent thermal and acoustic performance

The handle position controls the opening mode. With the handle pointing downward, the window is locked closed. Turning the handle 90 degrees to horizontal tilts the top of the window inward for ventilation. Turning the handle a full 180 degrees to pointing upward opens the window fully inward like a door.
